Welcome to California's beautiful "City by the Bay." You'll see San Francisco's most famous landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, the imposing Twin Peaks, Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf during your leisurely 3-night stay. Perhaps you'll explore the shops in Union Square or ride the famed cable cars up and down thrilling hills during your full day of independent exploration. En route to Lake Tahoe, enjoy a vineyard tour and tasting in the most famous wine growing region in the country, Napa Valley. Try your hand at Lady Luck; take in a show; and tour the Cal Neva, once owned by Frank Sinatra during your final 3-night stay in the resort gambling town of Lake Tahoe. From Lake Tahoe, you'll also travel and spend the day exploring the Old West town of Virginia City and Reno, known as "the Biggest Little City in the World."

Day 1: San Francisco, California - Tour Begins
Your tour begins in San Francisco, California’s beautiful "City by the Bay," with a leisurely stay in one of the world’s most popular cities. Tonight you will meet your fellow travellers at a welcome dinner.  (D)


Day 2: San Francisco
Begin your day with a sightseeing tour of the city’s most famous landmarks: the imposing Twin Peaks, the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf.  Tonight, enjoy dinner in San Francisco’s famous Chinatown.  (D)


Day 3: San Francisco
Your day is at leisure to independently explore the best this city has to offer.  Learn why it is consistently rated one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S.! You may wish to explore the shops in Union Square or ride the famed cable cars up and down San Francisco’s thrilling hills.


Day 4: San Francisco - Napa Valley - Lake Tahoe, Nevada
Today you travel to beautiful Napa Valley.  With over 260 wineries, it is known as the most famous wine-growing region in the country.  While in Napa Valley, tour a local winery and participate in a special wine tasting. Your journey then brings you over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the resort gambling town of Lake Tahoe.


Day 5: Lake Tahoe - Virginia City - Reno - Lake Tahoe
You begin the day by travelling to Virginia City.  This famous Old West town recalls the heritage of the days of gold and silver mining. Stroll the historic streets and enjoy its architectural buildings in the downtown district. Later, you arrive in Reno, known as “the Biggest Little City in the World.” You will have the afternoon at your leisure to explore this exciting town.  (B, D)


Day 6: Lake Tahoe
Today will be the highlight of your trip as you enjoy a scenic cruise on the sparkling blue waters of Lake Tahoe.  This cruise offers non-stop photo opportunities as well as a visit to the most photographed area of Emerald Bay. While cruising you will learn how it was formed and some of its fascinating history including tales about Fenette Island (nicknamed “Little Rock Island”) within the bay, as well as the Vikingsholm Castle, the stone mansion on its shores. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure before joining your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner to toast a great trip.  (B, D)
