Day 2: Saturday, July 17, 2010
Salt Lake City
Begin the day with a comprehensive tour of Salt Lake City, including the state capitol building, the charming residential district, and the Great Salt Lake, for which the city is named. Following your tour, pay a visit to the impressive Kennecott Copper Mine to see one of the largest manmade excavations in the world. Here you will take in incredible views of the mine and learn about the fascinating refinery process. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to do as you please. Perhaps you will explore Temple Square, one of Utah's most visited attractions. A beautifully landscaped 10-acre square in the heart of downtown, Temple Square is where you'll find the impressive 6-spired granite Salt Lake Temple and the domed Tabernacle, home of the famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir* and Tabernacle organ. Afterward, enjoy a night out on the town at one of countless restaurants, bars, or cafés Salt Lake City has to offer.

Salt Lake City - Idaho Falls, Idaho
Travel north to lovely Idaho Falls, your home for the next 5 nights. The city was originally founded as Taylor's Crossing because of the toll placed along the Snake River. It was later renamed Idaho Falls after the raging rapids that flow through the city. This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner with your fellow travelers and settle in for a relaxing night in this quiet little city.

Day 4: Monday, July 19, 2010
Idaho Falls - Blackfoot - Pocatello - Idaho Falls
Begin your day with a visit to the Museum of Idaho, a wonderful facility that preserves and showcases the natural and cultural history of Idaho and the Intermountain West. Here you will learn about the early history of Idaho Falls and Atomic Power and take in one of its nationally-acclaimed exhibits. Next, travel to the small town of Blackfoot to visit the Idaho Potato Expo. Here, in "The Potato Capital of the World," you will learn about the history, agriculture and importance of the spectacular spud. This afternoon, travel to Pocatello to learn about the Oregon Trail, a significant migration route used by pioneers who were heading west to settle new territory. Visit the Fort Hall Replica to learn about life at the fort during the 19th century.

Idaho Falls - Grand Tetons - Jackson Hole - Idaho Falls
Travel into the "Cowboy State" of Wyoming to visit Grand Teton National Park. This spectacular national park features the massive Teton Mountain Range, which is the youngest in the Rockies but contains some of North America's oldest rock. Approximately twelve Teton peaks rise above 12,000 feet and support a dozen mountain glaciers. Impressive as they are, however, none can compare to the Grand Teton, which towers more than a mile above the valley of Jackson Hole at a staggering 13,770 feet! Take in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Alpine landscape before traveling to the ski town of Jackson Hole. Tonight you'll enjoy a fun-filled evening of cowboy entertainment and cuisine at the Bar J Chuckwagon*.

Idaho Falls - Rexburg - Craters of the Moon - Idaho Falls
This morning you will travel to Yellowstone Bear World, an idyllic wildlife sanctuary where you'll get up close and personal with Rocky Mountain elk, American bison, timber wolves, Arctic wolves, black bears and grizzly bears! You'll even have the opportunity to feed some of these magnificent animals during your tour. It's sure to be one of the true highlights of your trip and an unforgettable memory. Afterwards, travel to Craters of the Moon National Park where you'll find approximately 75 square miles of volcanic cinder cones, spatter cones and lava tubes. These unique, moon-like landscapes prompted President Calvin Coolidge to declare it a national monument in 1924. We think you'll agree: this park is truly out of this world!

Idaho Falls - Yellowstone National Park - Idaho Falls
A delightful day of sightseeing is in store for you today as you visit the incomparable Yellowstone National Park. The first and oldest national park in the world, Yellowstone sprawls across 3,470 square miles in three western states. It is famous for its geysers, hot springs, and incredible wildlife including large, free-ranging herds of buffalo. Upon arrival, take a scenic drive to observe the park's unspoiled natural splendor. Of course, you couldn't visit Yellowstone without seeing its most famous attraction: Old Faithful. Watch in amazement as this predictable geyser erupts, sending a fountain of steam more than 60 feet in the air! It's sure to be a sight you'll never forget.
