Enjoy a leisurely 3-night stay in one of the world's most popular cities. Tonight you will meet your fellow travelers at a welcome dinner. (D) Day 2: San Francisco Begin your day with a sightseeing tour of the city's most famous landmarks: the imposing Twin Peaks, the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf. Tonight, enjoy dinner in San Francisco's famous Chinatown! (D) Day 3: San Francisco Your day is at leisure to independently explore the best this city has to offer. Learn why it is consistently rated one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S.! You may wish to explore the shops in Union Square or ride the famed cable cars up and down San Francisco's thrilling hills. Day 4: San Francisco - Napa Valley - Lake Tahoe, Nevada Today you travel to beautiful Napa Valley. With over 260 wineries, it is known as the most famous wine-growing region in the country. While in Napa Valley, tour a local winery and participate in a special wine tasting. Your journey then brings you over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the resort gambling town of Lake Tahoe. (D) Day 5: Lake Tahoe - Virginia City - Reno - Lake Tahoe You begin the day by traveling to Virginia City. This famous Old West town recalls the heritage of the days of gold and silver mining. Later, you arrive in Reno, known as "the Biggest Little City in the World." You will have the afternoon at your leisure to explore this exciting town. (B, D) Day 6: Lake Tahoe Today will be the highlight of your trip as you enjoy a scenic cruise on the sparkling blue waters of Lake Tahoe. This cruise offers non-stop photo opportunities as well as a visit to the most photographed area of Emerald Bay. While cruising you will learn how it was formed and some of its fascinating history including tales about Fenette Island (nicknamed "Little Rock Island") within the bay, as well as the Vikingsholm Castle, the stone mansion on its shores.
