Day 1: Overnight Flight
The fabulous French Riviera awaits your arrival, complete with elegant coastal resorts, superb dining, fabulous shopping and fascinating museums. Unpack your bags just once and stay at a single hotel for your entire adventure which begins with an overnight flight to France.
Day 2: Nice (French Riviera), France - Tour Begins
Your tour commences in the stunning Mediterranean city of Nice, long revered as the playground of the rich and famous. With an average of nearly 300 sunny days per year, Nice is a seaside paradise. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner featuring inspired French cuisine artfully presented.

Begin your day with a tour of Nice. A visit to the local flower market, where much more than brightly colored blooms are sold, is followed by a trip to the lively seafront Promenade des Anglais and Place Massena, the town’s center of activity. Then, travel the spectacular coastline, passing the charming town of Villefranche-sur-Mer east of Nice. In St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat, called the crown jewel of the French Riviera, you visit the impressive Rothschild Villa and Gardens. This seaside palazzo overlooks the Mediterranean and boasts seven themed gardens.

Travel first to charming Antibes to enjoy the typical Provencal market and explore this ancient port town. Next is St. Paul de Vence, situated atop a hill overlooking the beautiful countryside. This walled medieval town is filled with historic buildings, hidden alleyways, fabulous restaurants and many specialty shops. As you explore, soak in its distinctive light, said to have inspired Matisse, Braque, Chagall and many other artists.

A tour of Monaco will introduce you to the famous Casino of Monte Carlo, the Place des Armes, Prince’s Palace, Avenue des Beaux Arts, and the Cathedral of Monaco, where Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace are buried. A highlight of your visit to Monaco is the fascinating Oceanographic Museum which was founded in 1910 by Prince Albert I, who personally collected many of the marine artifacts on display. The museum building itself is a masterpiece of architecture not to be missed.

Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore romantic Nice on your own. Stroll by the shore, linger in an elegant café, or peruse the local shops…the choice is yours! Or, you may choose to purchase an optional excursion to St. Tropez and the popular resort town of Cannes, complete with a delightful cruise around the yacht-filled bay.

Delve into history as you travel to the town of Fréjus, once site of a major naval port established by Julius Caesar in 49 B.C. See the remains of the Roman Theatre, Amphitheatre and Aqueduct. Then, there’s time to discover this historic location on your own and enjoy the bustling market day in this typical French town. Spend the afternoon back in Nice catching up on any last-minute shopping and soaking in its chic atmosphere.

Learn the secrets of perfume making with a tour of the Fragonard Parfumerie in Grasse, where fragrant formulations have been prepared since 1782. Spend time soaking up the atmosphere of this charming town. Visit the new museum dedicated to the artist Fragonard and the Museum of Provencal Costume. Then, follow the road high above the Loup River Gorge to Gourdon for an unparalleled panoramic view. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner celebrating the end of an unforgettable trip.

Day 1: Nice - TGV Train - Paris
Leave the French Riviera behind and board the modern and comfortable high speed TGV train to Paris. Enjoy the sensation of riding one of the world’s fastest trains as you watch the scenery of Provence and the Loire pass by your window. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city of Paris on your own.
Day 2: Paris
Spend your day at leisure exploring the “City of Light.” Enjoy the use of your hop on-hop off sightseeing pass over two full days to see such sights as Notre Dame Cathedral, the Place Vendome and the Eiffel Tower. Or perhaps visit one of the nearby attractions such as Giverny or Louis XIV’s glorious Palace of Versailles – your friendly hotel concierge will be happy to assist.

Enjoy another day at leisure to pursue individual interests. You may want to stroll the elegant Champs Elysees, visit the Louvre and Orsay museums, take a cruise on the River Seine or simply watch the world go by from a sidewalk café.
